Tabletop: half open, like a game case
The upright half shows your fleet with the turn banner and both captains beside it, sized to be read from a little distance.
The flat half, under your fingers, is where you play: the enemy waters as large as the half allows, with your weapons and the enemy fleet’s roster beside them.
- The half under fire lights up in the color of whoever is firing.
- Neither board shrinks to a mini-map or changes place.
- Nothing sits on the fold.

Book: one board per page
Open iPhone Duo flat and hold it like a book. Your fleet takes one page and the enemy waters the other, both at full size, so you can read the whole battle at a glance.
Book mode suits a battle by turns: open it, see what changed on both boards, take your three shots.

Closed, it’s still Torpedo
On the outer display Torpedo is the same game you know from iPhone. Players on iPhone Duo also get the Duo Captain badge, granted by the device itself.

iPhone Duo questions
How do I start tabletop mode?
Start any battle, then stand your iPhone Duo half open on a table. Torpedo moves your fleet to the upright half and the enemy waters to the flat half. Open it flat again and the layout follows.
Does every mode work on iPhone Duo?
Yes. Battles against the computer, the campaign, two players on one device, Nearby, online battles, battles by turns and SharePlay all use the fold-aware layouts.
Do I need iPhone Duo to play Torpedo?
No. Torpedo plays on any iPhone or iPad with iOS 17 or later. iPhone Duo adds the tabletop and book layouts and a device-only Duo Captain badge.
Does anything sit on the fold?
No. Boards and buttons are laid out on each half so nothing important falls on the hinge.
